Luxury Holiday Accommodation in Whitby

Spring is Sprung in Whitby!

Spring is Sprung in Whitby!

There's still the odd threat of sleet or snow in the air, but with temperatures finally on the up and daffodils and crocuses appearing all over the place it appears that spring is finally in the air!

Easter's quite early this year, so by the end of the month Whitby will be bustling with visitors again. The quiet few weeks between New Year and the start of the Easter Holidays will be over and the Whitby we know and love will be back in full swing.

There's plenty to look forward to this year - both in Whitby and the surrounding area. Here are a few highlights from the next few weeks:

Tour de Yorkshire - 3rd - 6th May 2018

Unfortunately the race won't be making its way through Whitby this year - the closest action will take place in Scarborough which hosts the finish line for Stage 3 of the race. It's sure to be another fantastic weekend of cycling, get all the latest news on the website:

Musicport on the Moors - 4th - 7th May 2018

Whilst never wishing to stand still, and with a brief to develop new events Musicport, (which has always been a town-based festival) is extending outside of Whitby into the glorious countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors and developing an event that sets itself in the landscape of the historic and beautiful village of Goathland.

Based around the new community venue The Hut, with camping onsite, the festival aims to carry on the relaxed and friendly and high-quality ethos of its established festival but with more time for festival goers to interact with artists and with each other whilst hopefully developing new skills. With a limit on festival attendance of 150 it's bound to have a very intimate atmosphere and that combined with a line-up that encompasses many different music and other art forms, will make it a unique way to spend a bank holiday weekend.

Tickets for Musicport On The Moors now available (to include camping) at £100 for 4 days.

If you'd like to buy tickets (which can be paid for in 3 instalments) ring Musicport on 01947 603475 or you can buy online by visiting their website.

Moonlight Cinema - 25th - 28th May - Sorry, Almost Sold Out Already!

Moonlight Cinema is coming to Whitby, between May 25th-28th. They have teamed up with Abbey Farm Caravan Park to bring a special event, which is completely free to attend. During Moonlight Cinema’s visit, there will be four different screenings, all beginning at 9:40pm, from the Friday-Monday night. These films include:

  • Dirty Dancing – Friday 25th May @ 9:40pm
  • Beauty and the Beast – Saturday 26th May @ 9:40pm
  • The Greatest Showman – Sunday 27th May @ 9:40pm
  • Bram Stoker’s Dracula – Monday 28th May @ 9:40pm

Each screening is an out-door seated event, customers are asked to bring their own chairs, this can include picnic blankets, beanbags etc. There will be food and drink available to purchase on site, including an authentic American Style Diner, and a Tango Ice Blast Stall (alcoholic options available). The menu is going to be released shortly on the Moonlight Community Cinema Facebook Page.

The founder of Moonlight Cinema has said “As the company originally began in Scarborough, we are very excited to return. Especially as we can offer this as a free event. It’s something new for the community, and something fun. We hope after this event, we can create similar events in the surrounding areas. So far, we have had a great response on social media, and more than 3,000 tickets have been booked.

Always Something to do in Whitby!

Whitby's full of great things to do. We'd highly recommend taking a Whitby tour with Rose, the Whitby Storyteller.
